Seminars, forums to facilitate co-op

The forthcoming seventh China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) is showing an increasingly important role as a stage for global capital flows and exchanges along with some 40 seminars and forums to be carried out during the fair.
"The 40-odd high-level seminars and forums, notable for being professional, specialized, comprehensive and timely on their contents, will attract around 5,000 experts and officials from around the world,'' said Zheng Zhi, vice-director of the operational department of CIFIT's organizing committee.
"Background of the speakers are the guarantee for the information released on the forums and seminars,'' said Zheng.
According to Zheng, such officials, experts and business persons including Chinese Minister of Commerce Lu Fuyuan, Vice-Chairman of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) Arvind Mayaram and CEO of US-based General Contractor Association Stephen E. Standherr will deliver authoritative speeches on economic and trade issues.
The International Investment Forum and the World Investment Report Press Release are the focus of all, said Zheng.
Such topics as China's investment promotion policies, key measures taken to optimize the country's investment environment, developing trends of international capital flow and China's utilization of foreign direct investment (FDI) will be introduced and issued by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, Minister of the National Assets Regulatory and Management Commission or President of the People's Bank of China and Chairman of the Sino-US National Trade Committee.
Participants keen on co-operation between Chinese and Euro-American contracting industry can get information about the sector's developing trends, relevant policies and laws and regulations concerning contracting business in the US and major European countries at a specialized seminar on September 10, said Zheng.
In addition, CIFIT will also create opportunities for countries from different continents to demonstrate their economic and trade status and for further co-operation with their counterparts.
During the Caribbean Investment Forum, Caribbean countries' leaders and officials will deliver speeches on investment policies, investment projects, enterprises and other hot economic issues.
The conference on Turkey's investment policy and market introduction will also be held during the fair, helping the country find more investors.
